Sale-A-Bration

Whoops, I missed a card we worked on.  When we did this project (I think it was March's club) I knew I wanted to do something chalkboard-y.  It's so cute and trendy right now.  I went through all my sources where I find inspiration and found this card layout. Unfortunately, I can't find it again to give proper credit.  My sincere apology's to the person who kindly inspired me.

I started with Basic Black Cardstock and heat embossed the stamp using my versamark and white powder.  Since we were going for the chalkboard, sort of messy look, I didn't bother with my Embossing Buddy.  I used my blender pens and the white chalk from the Stampin Chalk that has sadly retired.  I used a ruler to get a nice clean line and then rubbed my blender pen all over the white chalk.  It was a super quick and easy card.  I just plopped that black cardstock onto some Cameo Coral.  I used the DSP and the Ribbon and Buttons packfrom Sale-A-Bration to finish it off.  I have to say that I'm obsessed with banners and flags!

May Club

For club this month I thought we'd showcase something fun for Fathers Day.  I learned this super fun idea for a box at a Regional event I went to in April.  I knew right away it would be perfect for this project.  I love this set "Beyond Plaid", so I thought it would make the perfect background for the "dad" box.

I can't believe the current spring catalog and the idea book and catalog will be retiring in just a matter of weeks! This year has really flown by.  I'm really looking forward to the new book and the new fun things that are in it. I had forgotten that I purchased the pinwheel die at the beginning of the Spring Catalog, so I thought I'd better use it before I can't! So we made this fun card! I also figured we'd use up that adorable "Tea for Two" DSP before it retires.  I can't get rid of my old paper, so I would rather use it up than store it!

Watercoloring

It's no secret that I absolutely LOVE to color in an image.  I don't always have time to sit down and do it, but it is my favorite.  This past month one of my customers purchased Stampin' Up!'s watercolor crayons and made the comment of "I am so excited, but I have no idea how to use them".  She happened to be hostessing club the next time, so I told her we'd do that! Normally when I water color I just use the ink in the lid of the ink pad and a paint brush, so it was fun to get out my water color crayons and play with them again.  I'm sad they will be retiring after this month.

I knew we would make a box or some sort of container, so I perused my Pinterest page and came across THIS fun tutorial.  I thought this would be the perfect little tote bag to showcase for mothers day. The Picture that I got the idea from used an entire sheet of paper.  I played around with many different dimensions and came up with a size that I could mass produce them without using too much paper.  We used the watercolor crayons and Basic Grey ink.  I realize my colors are pretty radical, but I wanted to showcase a variety of colors.  They made for a great punch of color.  However, not quite as matchy-matchy as I like :)

Blog Hop: May Day

Happy May Day! What could make the month of May even better? Starting off with a cute flower card :)

This was a card we made for club last time.  Mothers day is right around the corner!

I used the adorable set "Oh Hello" from the Mini.  In the back ground you can hardly see it, but I used the chevron stamp in the awesome Illumiate pad.  This picture doesn't show, but it's actually a little sparkly! I love that ink pad!
